Overview
With less than a month to go before the anticipated publication by the U.S. Department of Education of two final rules based upon the 2023-2024 Federal Negotiated Rulemaking process (Deadline – Friday, November 1) and the 2024 Presidential and Congressional elections (Tuesday, November 5th) CSPEN is closely monitoring the anticipated outcomes of both.

Join us this Thursday when our regularly scheduled CSPEN Federal Legislative & Regulatory update will provide you with the most time sensitive information regarding the anticipated publication of the new 2024 Final Rules which will go into effect July 1, 2025* and an assessment of how the outcome of the 2024 Presidential and Congressional elections could impact the future direction of higher education policy.

(*Note – it is possible that the Department may provide the ability for borrowers under the student loan debt relief rules to implement the regulatory benefits early. So too many the Department provide the ability for early implementation of some or all of the three areas final rules to be promulgated under the Program Integrity and Institutional Quality regulatory revisions.)

The webinar will include a review of the key issues and relevant actions related to both the regulations and review of the potential impact of the elections on key committees (i.e. Education, Veterans Affairs, Appropriations), the balance of power in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, and the higher education policies of the two Presidential candidates as well.
