Tom Was Up All Night, Here Is What We know…

Donald J. Trump Exceeds 270 Electoral College Votes
Becomes 47th President of the United States
Republicans Will Take Control of Senate
Control of the House Remains Undetermined

Overview
For those of you who didn’t spend all night up with Tom, below is a reprint of his last hourly update from 6 AM ET this morning.  Tom is retiring to get some rest, but will provide an update later this afternoon and will cover all of this and more on tomorrow’s CSPEN Federal Legislative & Regulatory Update webinar (registration information at bottom).

Posted at 6AM—
Within the last hour since the 5 AM posting, multiple media outlets have officially called the 2024 Presidential election for Donald J. Trump.  While several states Electoral College votes remain to be tallied, former President Trump has amassed enough Electoral College votes from battleground states including, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin to exceed the 270 votes required to be elected.

As President Trump returns to the White House it is already clear that the U.S. Senate will be under Republican control, as the majority in the upper chamber of Congress has flipped from Democratic control to Republican control.  While the final outcome of seven races remain undeclared/called at this time, it appears as though the Republican majority in the Senate could be as many as five votes (55-45).

Control of the U.S. House has yet to be determined.  Democrats have a path to flip control of the House, as they are leading in many of the remaining contentious races.  However, Republicans could still maintain control if a couple of the close races – too close to call now, and possibly headed for a recount – tip in their favor.

Here is the latest on all of the Key Races and Committees.
