As CSPEN Continues to Grow, The Board Establishes Four Strategic Development Committees

Overview
Since our inception, CSPEN has focused on responding to the requests of our community in formulating our mission, goals and objectives and your leadership has served us well! With your direction and support we hope that we have melded into an organization that provides value to you through the delivery of timely, accurate, and sourceable information in support of the students you educate, your institution(s) and staff, and the employers who count on our community to help meet our nation’s skilled workforce needs.

Building upon your suggestions and recommendations, at the most recent Board of Directors meeting, the Board noted that it may well be time for another assessment of our collective strategic plan and vision in order to collectively drive organizational change and transformation in response to the legislative and regulatory challenges our community is forced to contend with.

In an effort to face these challenges head on the Board established four new internal committees which are designed to assist in supporting the organization in both obtaining greater efficiency and effectiveness in achieving its mission and continuing to be responsive to the communities’ suggestions and recommendations.

Detailed below are brief descriptions of the four Committees.

Fundraising
The Fundraising Committee focuses efforts on raising funds for CSPEN in aggregate, in the spirit of advancing missions and goals. Fundraising efforts are focused on educational entities/training providers, vendor partners, individuals, and community organizations. The Committee supports CSPEN’s executive directors in ensuring event success related to fundraising efforts, including but not limited to CSPEN’s policy day and CSPEN’s annual meeting.

Marketing and Communications
The Marketing and Communications committee will ensure we provide timely information about our upcoming events, industry news and other relevant information as effectively as possible to the CSPEN community. We will strive to create additional opportunities and innovate on new pathways for our industry experts to provide relevant information that will support our community.

Social Impact
The Social Impact Committee focuses on expanding CSPEN’s efforts in raising awareness on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and other humanitarian efforts. The committee looks to support our community of colleges and universities in their efforts in these areas through education and opportunities to serve at future CSPEN events.

Events & Education
The Events and Education Committee will direct its efforts on organizing and overseeing all educational activities responsible for curating a diverse range of events, including seminars, workshops, webinars, and conferences, tailored to fostering professional development and knowledge enhancement of the interests of CSPEN and the career college sector at large.

What To Expect
In the weeks and months ahead, we will share the progress of each of these Committees in the development and implementation of new and refined efforts to enhance our community’s brand, reputation and established track record in preparing individuals to meet our nation’s skilled workforce demands.

How You Can Get Involved
