Senate HELP Committee Uses Time Before Adjournment for 2026 Midterm Elections To Consider Higher Education Fraud Bill Already Passed In The House

Just after 10 AM this morning the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions convened an Executive Session to consider a revised version of S. 4428 – The No Aid for Ghost Students Act of 2026 and votes on five Trump nominees awaiting HELP Committee approval. S. 4428 is the companion bill to H.R. 7892 which was introduced by House Subcommittee on Higher Education & Workforce Development Chairman in March 12, passed out of the full Committee on Education & Workforce on March 17, and debated and passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on June 9-10.
