Dear CVTA Members,
I’m writing to let you know about some important changes in the government affairs office at CVTA.
Kyle Hayes is departing from the Association and will be taking on a new role advocating on tax policy issues. He will continue to support career education opportunities on Capitol Hill.
“I’m extremely grateful to have spent these past two-and-a-half years working with CVTA’s membership. Your dedication to opening up new career opportunities in this industry has been an inspiration. I’ve been particularly impressed by the ways in which everyone in this community of leaders works to lift each other up and raise the standard for training and safety in this industry. You’ve all been more than generous with your time and guidance and have made this industry feel like home for me in my time here.”
Kyle Hayes
Please join me in wishing Kyle well and thanking him for his valuable analysis and advocacy during his time at CVTA.

In the spirit of new beginnings, we are very pleased to announce that Mark Copeland is joining CVTA to provide government affairs strategy and services.
Mark brings over fifteen years of House and Senate experience on Capitol Hill to the Association, including ten years with Rep. Bishop during his time on the House Education and Workforce Committee and the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee.
Mark most recently served as the Senior Policy Advisor for Sen. Duckworth during her time on the Senate Commerce Committee. Many of you may very well recognize Mark from Hill Day visits.
Mark Copeland comes to us alongside his colleagues at OS Strategies, a bipartisan transportation firm with deep connections to Republican and Democrat policymakers. Mark’s colleagues at OS Strategies bring additional decades experience in Senate Appropriations (THUD), Senate EPW and U.S. Department of Transportation.
We look forward to welcoming Mark to CVTA’s government affairs office. All are welcome to join the upcoming Legislative Regulatory meeting on Wednesday, February 19th at 4pmEST to meet him and discuss policy issues as we approach Hill Day on Thursday, March 6th.
